Some notes on which files to use:
- The script mini_milk.m is an example of how to call the function that predicts the optical properties of a particular milk product.
- The script plot_LM_phase.m illustrates how to compute the phase function of a specific particle (using a casein micelle and a fat globule as examples).
- The function that predicts the optical properties of milk is in milk.m.
- The Lorenz-Mie theory is spread out in a number of smaller functions (of which particle_props and LorenzMie are the ones to call if you want to work with new materials).
The code is very slow compared to the C++ version because Matlab does not like for-loops.
Vectorizing the code is not straight forward because it is based on recurrence formulae.
Thus, some patience is required if you want to make a many predictions.

software for any purpose, including commercial applications.
However, the software is provided 'as-is' without any warranty.
