After the launch of DTUsat-2,
preparations are starting for the next DTU
student satellite. As part of that, the generic ground segment
software should be revised. This software consists of the following
major components:
Ground Station Controller Controls the ground station
radio and antennas in real time during a pass. Furthermore handles
stations reservations.
Ground Station Operator Console A GUI for manual
control of the ground station controller. Uses OpenGL graphics.
Mission Control Center (MCC) Uses a database for storing
mission control commands and mission data. Must interact witht the
ground station controller in real-time.
Mission Planning System (MPS) A GUI for planning the mission
operations and schedule these for upload.
Mission Monitor A GUI for presenting mission data in
a generic and flexible way.
Depending on interest and qualifications, students may work on
revising any of these components. The ground software is written in Java.
